CASI
Students started their first CASI (Comprehension, Attitude, Strategies, Interests) today. This is an assessment designed to measure a students approach to reading and level of comprehension. They were asked to summarize the text and answer "thinking" questions using their own ideas and information from the story. Ask your child about "Joe's Junk" this weekend.

Non Fiction Text Features
Ask your child to share the text features of a non-fiction text. Discuss the story we read today, "The First Skateboard in the History of the World" by Betsy Byars.

Independent Patterning Task
We have completed our unit on patterning. Students will complete an independent task or a "show what you know" on Friday. We will spend the next two days reviewing concepts.

Terry Fox - Cole's Cancer Crusaders
Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Terry Fox - Cole's Cancer Crusaders Run. Thank you for all your donations to both The Great Canadian Sears Run and our Twoonies for Terry Campaign. All volunteers are welcome to come to our assembly at 12:15, followed by our run.
